The Qalam School Rawalpindi

The Qalam School was established in July 2010 as a free school to educate impoverished and vulnerable
children in the outskirts of Rawalpindi, Pakistan. To this day, the school only caters to the financially challenged children of the community, yet maintaining a high standard of education. The school also focuses on character building in order to bring out the best in them.

Kamel Arif Vocational Program

The Kamel Arif Vocational Program was created to provide Qalam School students the technical skills they need to earn a respectable income and positively impact the community around them. We currently provide vocational training in sewing and handicraft, as well as carpentry.

AAQ Health Program

The AAQ Health Program was established in 2020 to promote the physical and emotional well being of our
students and staff. Featuring an on site clinic with a full-time physician and a well stocked pharmacy, the program offers preventive care and comprehensive medical care to all its beneficiaries.

AAQ Food and Ration Program

The Food and Ration Program provides a nutritious meal daily to our 320 students and staff. Since all of our
students come from financially strained homes, the school lunch may be the best meal of the day. The program distributes a large sack of flour monthly to over 200 student families, and special food rations are provided to them in the month of Ramadan.

AAQ Uplift Program

Seven years ago we established the Exceptional Hardship Fund (EHF) to help struggling individuals overcome financial and life crises. The EHF helps families in situations such as being unable to put food on the table, by helping them set up small business (such as rickshaws, fruit stall, stitching), as well as assisting with acquiring respectable housing.
